Position Title:                    Asphalt Lab Technician

Department:                      Asphalt Plant

Supervisor:                         Asphalt Plant Manager

Location:                             Athens, AL

 

Essential Job Functions:

·         Perform Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing on materials produced to assure compliance with internal and external specifications

·         Monitor production and certify test results for use in contract procurement or completion of job quality requirements

·         Assisting in mix design development and changes in plant production

·         Maintain control charts and other records required

·         Inspect stockpiles, material sources, and truckloads at plant sites

·         Ensure safety standards are maintained in and around the lab. Troubleshoot problems and review basic product specifications. Inspect, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment periodically

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

·         ADOT Plant Certification preferred

·         ADOT Mix Design Certification preferred

·         ADOT Level 1 & 2 Certification preferred

·         Computer and data entry skills required

·         Basic math and computing/technology skills

·         Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

·         Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision

·         Ability to get along with others

·         Positive customer-service-oriented attitude

·         Must be able to pass MVR Check

·         Must be able to work Saturdays as needed based on workload
