Position Title: Concrete Superintendent
Department: Field Operations
Supervisor: General Superintendent
Location: Athens, AL
Essential Job Functions:
· Knowledgeable in the following concrete operations:
o Mixing, pouring, spreading, and smoothening concrete as well as designing and setting up forms
o Reviewing and conducting repairs/restoration of concrete structures
o Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed
o Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float
o Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete, and move chute to direct concrete on forms
o Clearing the worksite of any stones, debris, and equipment before and after work
· Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
· Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
· Plan and coordinate all labor, materials, and equipment required to complete each project
· Daily supervision and management of multiple concrete crews
· Understand and monitor project costs and budgeting
· Hire and train new employees to understand job tasks
· Prepare schedules, track attendance, manage/approve/deny PTO, and verify time card accuracy
· Track equipment usage to maintain proper utilization and timely repairs and monitor vehicle safety
· Supervise workloads, schedule, tasks, and other related functions
· Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
· Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
· 5+ years of Concrete Experience
· Experience managing heavy civil projects is required
· Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
· Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
· Knowledge of OSHA Standards
· Ability to maintain accuracy and high standard of quality in a high production environment is required
· Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge and FBI badge
· Acceptable MVR in accordance with Grayson Carter & Son’s Company Vehicle Policy
· Dependable transportation
· Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
· Work weekends and overtime as needed
· Committed to attending work each day
· Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
