Site Foreman

Position Title: Site Foreman
Department: Field Operations
Supervisor: General Superintendent
Location: Athens, AL

The Site Foreman will directly supervise and coordinate daily activities of various crew members and will engage in the trade work of the employees being supervised.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Knowledge of Topcon GPS Systems including rovers, downloading files, etc.
  • Willing and able to operate all heavy construction equipment including Dozers, Trackhoes, Graders, etc.
  • Determine various types of soil and the best use for that soil
  • Familiar with the finish process after pipe installation is complete
  • Plan and install base to required specifications
  • Able to demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill of grading and finish work while applying hands-on supervision with effective leadership
  • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements and procedure planning
  • Provide complete supervision and responsibility for the job site field operations
  • Submit time and attendance for all employees on the crew
  • Calculate and enter production quantities, cost, and other documentation
  • Manage multiple jobs and crews as needed
  • Proactively plan, schedule, and coordinate work each day including scheduling trucks, equipment, and tools
  • Locate, measure and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment
  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy
  • Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
  • Solve problems and provide possible solutions in a timely manner
  • Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
  • Ensure all crew members follow all safety rules and regulations at all times
  • Train and develop crew members as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Finish and/or Mass grade experience preferred
  • Knowledge of utilities preferred, such as – storm, sewer, water, and electric
  • Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
  • Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, and climb on various terrain
  • Must be physically able to periodically lift 75 pounds
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards
  • Ability to obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred but not required
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
  • Available to work all week days, weekends, and hours as needed
  • Committed to attending work each day
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR
