Position Title: Site Superintendent
Department: Field Operations
Location: Athens, AL
Essential Job Functions:
- Willing and able to operate all heavy construction equipment including Dozers, Trackhoes, Graders, etc.
- Knowledge of Topcon GPS Systems including base and rovers, downloading files, machine control etc.
- Oversee all aspects of a jobsite including determining various types of soil and the best use for that soil, the finish process after pipe installation is complete, installing base to required specifications, and assist with concrete/paving needs and requirements
- Able to demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill of grading and finish work while applying hands-on supervision with effective leadership
- Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements and procedure planning
- Provide complete supervision and responsibility for the job site field operations
- Verify and approve time and attendance for all employees on assigned crews/jobs
- Calculate and enter production quantities, cost, and other documentation
- Manage multiple jobs and crews as needed
- Understand the financial impact of job site decisions
- Proactively plan, schedule, and coordinate work each day including scheduling trucks, equipment, and tools
- Locate, measure and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment
- Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy
- Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
- Solve problems and provide possible solutions in a timely manner
- Train and develop crew members as necessary
- Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
- Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- 3+ years of field supervisory experience required
- General knowledge of underground utilities, mass grading, finish work, general labor, concrete, and paving preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR
- Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards
- Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge preferred, but not required
- Ability to obtain FBI Badge preferred, but not required
- Dependable transportation
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
- Work weekends and overtime as needed
- Committed to attending work each day
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
